OPEN SEAT SIGNS

Empty front seats in a dark auditorium? Problem solved!

Our Open Seat light up signs held by a staff member or usher is the answer.

The job the venue never solves on its own

General-session rooms at big conferences are dark by design. Uplights on the stage, house lights down on the audience, a keynote deck bright enough to compete with. Several hundred people trying to find the seats their team is holding, walking down the wrong row for the third time.

Open Seat Signs are built for that job. Bright enough to read from the back of the room, light enough for one runner to hold or a tripod to plant at the row end. It is the same LED sign that runs stadium wayfinding, put to work on the one job the venue leaves to you.

The three open-seat jobs

Keynote / general-session seat holding

Executive teams filter into a dark auditorium after networking. The executives are guided effortlessly to their assigned block that may be split by title, region, or business unit.

The usher holds the light up sign that is easily visible from the back.

  • LED Lollipop Sign, Famous 14″ or Quick-Snap 14″.
  • 4,500 lumens — visible at 50 feet. In a dark hall the room works for the sign.
  • Zero fall-off backlit illumination. Uniform across the full panel, so the identifier reads the same from row 3 as from row 30.
  • Mounting: the 58″ free-standing tripod plants the sign at the row entry; the 60″ hand-held monopole lets a usher hold it above shoulder height for arriving delegates. Choose one at checkout, included.

Sponsor Recognition & VIP Seating

If your conference has sponsors, one of the best ways to recognize the Sponsor of the day is to have their logo all bright and shining at the front of the conference hall.  The Sponsor signs act dual purpose of seat assignment and recognition.  Many Agencies purchase the signs from us for $300 and them rent them to different Sponsors for $300 or more for every event every year.  Put a VIP branded sign on every VIP seat for a keynote reveal or product launch. The sign is on the seat when the guest arrives, and the guest’s take-away is a branded artifact.

Reserved-section identification

The key purposes of front row and reserved seating is for accessibility and safety, VIP.  Reserved seating signs for a dark auditorium serve the specific purpose of clearly marking held seats or rows when ambient lighting is very low, preventing late-arriving or general-admission guests from mistakenly taking VIP, staff, or family seating. Standard paper or dark fabric signs disappear when house lights dim

Our bright Reserved Seating sign provide additional ambient lighting and spectacular visibility in dark

ADA or Handicap Seating

ADA reserved seating in dark auditoriums (like movie theaters, planetariums, and playhouses) must prioritize fall prevention, line-of-sight visibility, and pathway lighting for greater safety and easy accessibility for mobility auditoriums.

Why LED for a dark room

Seat identification is the job LED signs were designed for: the moment ambient light fails.

Foam board and printed signs need the house lights up or a spotlight to be legible more than a few rows back, and keynote rooms rarely offer either. An LED sign carries its own light, so the back of the room reads it as well as the front.

Frames that work the whole event. The frames that run seat holding at the general session run wayfinding in the hallways the same day, then redeploy to the next event with new graphics. The identification content is the per-event spend; the frames are the asset on the books.

Teams already ordering LED signs for wayfinding get seat identification from the same units with no extra hardware. Teams starting with Open Seat Signs have the frames ready for wayfinding at the next event.
